We are excited to announce LinkedIn Learning (formerly Lynda.com) is now available at UNCW for all faculty, staff, and students! LinkedIn Learning is an online educational platform that helps you discover and develop business, technology-related, and creative skills through expert-led course videos.

LinkedIn Learning provides thousands of high-quality videos that are professionally produced and led by qualified subject matter experts across multiple disciplines. Whether you are looking to increase your knowledge and skills in data analysis, graphic design, project management, or professional writing, LinkedIn Learning can help!

LinkedIn Learning can be integrated into Canvas to provide your students with a seamless learning experience.

LinkedIn Learning can be accessed using a mobile device for on-demand learning.

You can utilize LinkedIn Learning to ensure your students have the prerequisite knowledge to be successful in your course.

LinkedIn Learning provides a wide variety of videos to address specific soft skills needed within a workplace setting.

LinkedIn Learning (formerly Lynda.com) is an online educational platform that helps you discover and develop business, technology-related, and creative skills through expert-led course videos that support online learning and teaching.

LinkedIn Learning contains thousands of courses you can view that are related to various fields and interests.
Earn CEU's, certifications, and/or completion certificates after viewing content.
All videos are accessible and many include additional exercises, assessments, and transcripts.
These videos can be used to supplement your instructional resources at no additional cost to students. A Canvas integration is available to UNCW instructors.

UNCW LinkedIn Learning accounts are FREE to all UNCW students, faculty, and staff.

LinkedIn is the world's largest professional network on the internet. You can use LinkedIn to find the right job or internship, connect and strengthen professional relationships, and learn the skills you need to succeed in your career. You can create a personal LinkedIn account to:

Network with colleagues within your field.
Market yourself to potential employers.
Share and store your LinkedIn Learning Certificates and/or continuing education credits.

Getting Started with LinkedIn Learning Checklist

Step 1: Activate your UNCW LinkedIn Learning Account 💻

Activate your FREE UNCW LinkedIn Learning Account by following these steps:

For the best user experience, log out of your personal LinkedIn account prior to activating your UNCW LinkedIn Learning account.
Activate your UNCW LinkedIn Learning account here.
Follow the prompts provided by LinkedIn Learning
- Use your UNCW credentials
- See below Step 2: Advantages and Disadvantages of connecting your LinkedIn Profile concerning pairing your personal LinkedIn account with your UNCW LinkedIn Learning account
After completing the initial login prompts you will have free access to all LinkedIn Learning resources. If you are prompted to pay for a resource within LinkedIn Learning please log out of LinkedIn Learning and sign back in.

Step 2: Advantages and Disadvantages of connecting your LinkedIn Profile 🤔

Advantages

Easily share your certificates and skills with potential employers.
Upon leaving UNCW, all of your LinkedIn Learning certificates and completed courses will be available via your personal LinkedIn account.

Disadvantages

You must be logged into your personal LinkedIn account to access your UNCW LinkedIn Learning account.
Your SSO attached to your UNCW LinkedIn Learning account will not work for your personal LinkedIn account. UNCW TAC is not able to retrieve forgotten passwords for personal LinkedIn accounts.
Any certificates earned will be attached to your UNCW LinkedIn Learning account and will need to be downloaded or transferred prior to leaving UNCW.

Once you have activated your account you will have free access to thousands of instructional videos

Step 1: From your homepage you can begin searching for potential videos or courses by using the search bar and searching by topic or specific interest.

Step 2: You can save videos/courses you are interested in viewing at a later time by using the "Save" function.

Things to Consider

To save yourself from some technical headaches, here are some things to keep in mind when using LinkedIn Learning:

Tip 1: Recommended Browsers 💻

DEeL recommends using Chrome or Edge for the most seamless user experience. If you prefer to use another browser, please be aware of potential issues with cross-site tracking that may prevent you from accessing LinkedIn Learning.

Tip 2: Avoiding Loading Errors ⚠️

If you receive a “Things aren’t loading” error when trying to access LinkedIn Learning follow the suggested steps below.
