The Argument Analysis comprises approximately 900 words in two sections:
Section 1:
Identify a specific publication (a particular news magazine, online publication, scholarly journal, newspaper, edited collection, etc.) that would suit your Researched Argument 2. Then, clarify why it would be an appropriate fit by discussing, for example:
- related subjects it has covered
- its readership
- its orientation
- its tone
Section 2:
Demonstrate that both of your Researched Arguments address the same topic but assume distinct positions. To accomplish this goal, you should first point to their concrete similarities. Then, clarify their divergent elements, such as, for example:
- the theses they forward
- the stasis questions they address
- the enthymemes they invoke
- the language they use
- the appeals they deploy
- the tones they construct
- the readers they addresses
- the arguments they forward
- the sources they incorporate
- the arrangements they construct
